O trabalho de hoje é voltado para minha cidade, Monteiro-PB.
Antes, era apenas uma fazenda, morada de fazendeiros, onde, um deles, iria ser homenageado, tendo seu nome como Influência, Manoel Monteiro do Nascimento. Cidade antes pouco povoada, aos poucos ganhando moradores, mudou de nome novamente, antes conhecida como Lagoa do Periperi, passou a ser chamada de Povoação da Lagoa (Segundo dizem, haviam apenas duas casas com telhas, na época). Assim, pouco após, recebeu o nome que vive até hoje, Alagoa do Monteiro, que, como já citado, em homenagem ao seu fundador. Criada em 1865, foi sendo erguida em frente ao Rio Paraíba. Cidade com maior território na Paraíba, mas não a maior. Base na Cultura é o Forró, de onde muitos cantores surgem, como Dejinha de Monteiro, Ilmar Cavalcante, Magníficos, Flávio José, entre outros. Todo mundo aqui adora um forrózinho, é, nem todo mundo, mas... A cidade encontra-se em crescimento, cada dia ficando mais bonita, não é bem uma cidade grande, mas é daquele tipo que atrai quem passa. Outro fato bom, é que pense numa cidade calma (como diz o matuto), ótimo lugar para passeios, apesar de não ter muitos lugares para sair (Tá, parei). Enfim, sobre esse intercâmbio, achei bem legal, ideia nova e criativa do nosso professor, Rodrigo. Muito interessante, ajuda-nos a conhecer modos de vidas e locais diferentes, de uma forma mais completa, sem sair da nossa cidade. Bem, é isso. Today's work is geared toward my city, Monteiro-PB.

Very interesting, helps us to know ways of life and different places, in a more complete manner, without leaving our city. Well, it is.
